Kevin M.F.Platt – historian of culture, Head of the Program in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory in University of Pennsylvania. The author of the books: «History in a Grotesque Key. Russian Literature and the Idea of Revolution» (1997; Russian edition: 2007) and «Terror and Greatness: Ivan and Peter as Russian Myths» (2011). Currently, he finishes the book «Cultural Practices from Outside: the Russians in Latvia» and works on the study of Russian historiography of the 18th – 19th centuries. He lives and works in Philadelphia, USA.
