Andreas Schonle – Professor of Russian Literature at Queen Mary,  University of London. His research interests include Russian literature of the 18th - 19th centuries, topiary art, perception of physical and cultural space in Russian history, as well as theory of modernity. His latest monograph about the perception of ruins  (Architecture of Oblivion, 2012) is the Winner of two Prizes. He is also the author of two other monographs (The Ruler in the Garden, 2007; Authenticity and Fiction, 2004) and the compiler of three collections of articles.
