Hermann Aubié

Teaching associate at Aston University and completed his PhD in Asian Studies with a specialism on China at the University of Turku (Finland) with a thesis on Liu Xiaobo's struggle for human rights in China. Overall, his research focus is on contemporary politics, human rights, and civil society transformations in China and East Asia, with particular attention to how citizens use the law and media to promote sociopolitical change and to redress injustice for individuals/groups who are persecuted and discriminated.
