PhD, Assistant Professor at the Division of Philosophy and Religion Studies, Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications, Kazan Federal University. Obtained a doctoral degree in 2012 by defending a dissertation titled “Public discussions on a topic of social reforms in Tatar periodical press of the early twentieth century (as covered by the journal “Shura” (1908–1917))”. Linguistic proficiency: English, Arabic, Turkish, Tatar, Old Tatar. Research interests: religious reforms in Islam, transformation of religious traditions in Islam, Tatar Muslim periodical press of the early twentieth century, politics of cultural memory.
