Oleg Proskurin
Graduated philological faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1980. After defence of his thesis in 1984 for several years he had been teaching in Moscow State Pedagogical University, then — in the University of Illinois in Chicago and North-Western University (Evanston, Illinois). He was a visiting research fellow at the Institute of European studies of Cornell University (1998–2000, 2004–2005) and regional research fellow of the Davis Centre for Russian and Eurasian studies in Harvard University (2000–2001). Since 2005, he has been teaching literature in the Kathryn W. Davis School of Russian at Middlebury College (Vermont). Currently he is employed as a visiting professor at the department of Russian and East Asian Languages at Emory University (Atlanta, Georgia).
Oleg Proskurin is the author of numerous papers on Russian literature and culture of 18th — 20th centuries. Among his published papers are: books Pushkin's Poetry or a Mobile Palimpsest (NLO, 1999), Literary scandals of Pushkin's era (United humanitarian publishing, 2000) and vast commentary to a reprint of Pushkin's poems (Poems and novels, v. 1. M.: Novoe Izdatelstvo, 2007).
